This article has been edited to provide a link to a sound and pricing list with instructions on how to obtain sounds on a temporary basis.  We are still working on an automated download site that should be launched soon.  Sorry for any inconvenience.

ok i am a little pissed off i paid $150 dollars for a call and then $40 for a decoy and customer service acts clueless when you call for a question. I was under the impression when i ordered the caller that you could download sounds and the expert hunts and only the sounds are available. Customer service cant even give me a time frame of when they will be ready common. Typically i dont spend money without knowing what i am getting there is no way i am going to call up and buy sounds before being able to hear them. Fox Pro and Game Traks can offer this and they are or seem to be a lot smaller operation than Primos. How about speak my language and get you customer service in gear.

I would have to agree with the rest of these folks that your preparation for this product is very poor. I will be contacting Cabelas and letting them know that I am greatly disappointed in a product that is on their shelves and has not been checked on to see if it will satisfy their customers at all ends. Also, I believe that you have falsely advertised on your packing box that one is able to download additional sounds from your website and if someone was really ticked off they would have grounds for a lawsuit. Time to get your act together as quickly as possible and never let this happen again in the future. Greatly disappointed and will think twice before purchasing any primos products in future and will also spread the word about this to my many hunting companions.

You know foxpro dosen't have these kinds of issues, ya you pay a little more for their calls but atleast they have them!! I guess you get what you pay for? I should have bought the foxpro? And as far as myselself and with lots of others I am very disapointed with my choice in buying a primos game caller!

To everyone who has nothing but complaints i don't know if some of you have priced other callers on the market they range from cheap to over priced. I feel that this is a wonderful product i have never had a problem with any of my primos products. i feel that everyone should be a little more patient and i am sure primos will fix the problem soon and to primos thank you for selling quality and affordable products that work great.

Thank you Jon & Tanya

P.S. We love our new Turbo Dogg it works great.

Hey Tanya

I did not say the product was not of good  quality; what I said was that I am majorly disappointed that primos was not fully prepared to service the product. My alpha dog works and sounds great and costs about half the price of the fox pro call of similar features and sound. If you;re going to put a product on the shelf; it should be ready to go in all aspects and I just think primos dropped the ball on this one in a big way for a company with their years of supplying us with great stuff.

C'mon Primos!  Get ordering the sounds figured out.  I've been checking in for weeks and no improvement.  I want the Turbo Dogg because of the quality and price, but won't buy it until I can hear and buy sounds easily online.  Your losing money because I know of people spending the extra money for a Foxpro.  Night coyote season is upon us here in Maine and mouth and hand calls stink when you'r trying to spot dogs as well.  I'm giving it another week or so then it's Foxpro I go.....

I paid $130.00 for a piece of crap Turbo dog call.  Every time I call primos somebody gives me a different answer on how to download sounds.  Last week one employee finally told me I have to tell them wich sounds I want and I would receive an email with the sounds and I could download them.  I received an email and the sounds are on it but no way to download them and I had to pay for them.  Lucky I only purchased 4 of them so it didnt cost much.  Im sending this junk back.  WINDRIVER, FOXPRO, JOHNNY STEWART, or any other company/bussiness does not have this problem.  WILL PRIMOS, I figured you were smart enough to run a bussiness better than this but we all see now that you are not or we would not have this problem still.  Obviously you do not care either or it would have been fixed long before now.

I new what I was getting, I new the sounds wasn't ready yet,I have had some problems and they have been fixed.I don't know where you people are from but here in Nv.we don't cry like babies over bull shit quit your wineing and crap so these people can get there work done .o ya by the way I have called in over 20 dogs with this call in areas that have been hunted so hard  that I was ready to give it up.Yesterday I called in 4 dogs in a place that I watched the people drive out of .so quit your crying and go hunt dogs.

I'm w/ Donald on this one. I received gift certificates to Cabela's for Christmas and so I spent them on the Turbo Dog. Knowing full well that there were limited calls on it.  Guess what? I've called in 3 yotes in five days that I've used it.  Imagine that!  The idea of actually having Randy Anderson do some calling for me and it working.  This thing has performed great here in the tight spaces of sw Iowa. Thank you all at Primos and Randy Anderson for the work y'all have done w/ coyote calling. I appreciate it and am enjoying it thoroughly!!!!

P.S.

Definition of irony:  Bunch of so-called hunters having to wait in a 30 minute check-out line at Cabela's whining and moaning about it, but yet they're there to purchase merchandise that will aid them or up their game while hunting, in which they will spend hours waiting for that one shot.  LOL  Just too funny.

Alan, you are foolish.  Nobody expects magic (fairy) dogs to appear after one touch on this call.  I have been a true sportsman for 30+ years, fishing, hunting, and being a consummate of the outdoors all my life.  I buy (and am sponsored by) products that are reliable, AND have great customer service.  Primos is not doing that.  I bought my first deer grunt call from Primos (at least) 14 years ago.  And guess what??  I still use it because it is the best thing in the woods and it calls in deer every friggin year!  Nice deer to boot.  Will and you need to smarten up.  I buy products to work and last in the field.  Right now, Primos needs to get their S together and not only sell their sounds with ease, but probably just give them away because it costs them NOTHING...

I bought my Alpha Dogg about two weeks ago and have hunted every weekend since, i've called in 8 coyotes and two bobcats. Id say thats pretty good for anybody. The call works and sounds good, but i sat down at the computer to download the expert hunts and find out they dont exist yet. That pisses me off for primos to advertise something that you cant get yet. Im sure that when you can get them eventually (if its easy to download) it will be great. Im very disappointed in Primos, and hope they get their shit together soon!! Im worried now that if something goes wrong with my call, warranty will be just a big headache.

Would be nice to have detailed instructions on how to create my own hunts and save them in "My Hunts" i find the instructions that come with the callers to be very lacking in detailing how to do things. personally id like the option of creating my own MP3s, putting them all together and loading them onto my caller myself. i bought the caller to free up my hands, not because i cant call.

Some Wolf sounds are urgently needed. Montana, Idaho, Alaska and Canada all have many wolf hunters, some expert sequences with elk and moose as prey would be good, as well as deer.

I bought the Turbo Dogg this weekend and opened it last night to give it a trial run, to make sure all was well with it.

I worked a "Predator Classic" this weekend at Cabele's and was fortunate enough to be able to have Greg Bruno, with Primos, set up next to me.  It was his first time to even get his hands on the Turbo Dogg as they sell out so quickly, and it was my first time as well to see the unit "in the real"!

Outside of some issues with conflicting with another remote, the sounds were great.  This being at the store.

So, last night, I set up the caller and found out there was a "firmware" update from 1.2 to 1.3

This new version corrected a lot of issues, including the remote conflict issue.

It takes some time, and the directions were not the best, but I did the update and am glad I did.

I cannot wait to try it out this weekend.

Regarding some of your all's complaints about the "Hunting Experts" sounds and such, did you all go and check out the website?  I am sure you must have since you are here, but there were some answers to those questions about the "missing sounds".

Just an FYI.

And to Donald, I think it is great in your offer to help some of these folks out.  Good job!!!

I ordered the alpha dogg over the internet. When I got it, it was bad. So I drove 45 min one way to get a new one, I tried it out before I left store. When I got home I downloaded the 1.3 version. After I downloaded it the speaker would not stop flashing. I called primos and complained. They said they would send me a alpha dogg with 1.3 version direct from them. If this dont work im getting my money back. I have been wanting to hunt for three weeks now and cant because of this BS. Too bad primos couldnt give me something in return for this hassle

I have tried everything to get better distance from my remote on my Turbo Dogg and can get no better than 50 yards with the best condition (elevated speaker and standing up).  When speaker is on ground and I am sitting down in hunting conditions I usually can't get more than 25 yards maybe 30 if I hold my arm above my head.  That is with nothing between me and my unit.  I have heard people say they can get up to 300 out of it.  I am begining to think I have a defect in my unit.  I like everything else about the call and took a bobcat on my very first stand with it, but I really would like to get at least 50 yards out of the remote.  Just wondering if I got a bad one?

@ Lang Alford - With the speaker on the ground you should get consistent operation at 50YDS and with the speaker 2 ft off the ground you should be able to obtain 150YDs, so I would say your unit has some potential antenna issues.  Please sumit a ticket and the Customer Service staff will work with you to get you a replacement unit.

I have to say, Primos has an awesome product! I'm a very proud Alpha Dogg owner. I am a little surprised to see all the rants here. I'm quite sure that with a little patience Primos will deliver and make the wait more than worth the while. I am willing to bet that the hold up is providing the sounds in a manner that makes it impossible to record them without paying. I wouldn't blame 'em at all.

Keep up the good work guys! Lookin forward to whackin some baby deer eaters PDQ.

I'm hoping I have arrived at the end of this issue.  16 Jan 12 my Alpha Dogg shouldbe here.  I ordered mine from All Predator Calls .com.  Have used the place before with great luck.  I saw some of the prices paid and I got a great deal on mine, $250.  Supposed to come with 75 sounds, varying species bout half coyote/distress and I guess a selections of other game calls, and 6 expert hunts.  We have a big County wide coyote hunt in Feb, guess we will see if this thing rides in the truck or gets left in the field.  Will let you know.

I would like to comment on somethin. I'm not being rude or disrespectful, but reading all this negativity that's being written is kinda depressing. I thought Hunters was supposed to have at least a little patience. I'd also Like to say that, I was on this site a few months ago and they had sounds posted that you could actively listen to and they were free to download. Obviously primos is having some technical issues, as does every company sometimes. I would think it's safe to assume that the nice people at primos are puling their hair out over this situation. websites, making and setting them up can be a real nightmare. I myself have not actually ever had the first problem (at least not any that I didn't cause myself by being too hard on equipment) out of any of the products I've bought from these nice people. Maybe I'm wrong, what do I know anyways I'm just a dumb hillbilly.

I have not received my Alpha Dogg yet, should be here tomorrow.  Just wanted to mention that it's my understanding you can download "any" MP3 or Wave file from your computer onto the Alpha Dogg.  If this is true then just go to one of the dozen or so sites that give these downloads away for free and get busy.  That's my plan.  Dang sure not gonna pay for downloads when there are so many people giving them away for free.  Check some of the predator hunting forums and you'll find all the free calls you need.

Just some input from what I have gotten so far.  This past  Monday it was cold, -10 at midnight.  My Alpha Dogg did quite well.  Remote operated good at 120 yards in 15 mph wind, from the cab of a pickup, like I said it was 10 below.  The sounds were clear and loud, good thing because I lost my tracks in the blowing snow and had to turn it on to find it.  I would reccommend a small red light, my headlamp worked well, as a failsafe in case you loose power at night.  No coyotes that trip but the Mountain Lion screams work great on the cat.  (Note!!!! Don't test that one with your tabby in your lap.)  Thanks for asking the wounds are healing nicely.  I also forgot to turn off the remote and the batteries lasted into the next evening.  I know Will and the Boys were having some growing pains, but mine seems to be hitting them outta the park.

I tried to take my call back to Academy and get a new one and they didn't have any so I opened a ticket to see about getting a replacement. They said they would replace it but I asked about maybe paying the difference and getting an Alfa Dogg. They told me there is no way they can do it. I just can't understand a company that refuses to sell a product to someone. They said I did not buy it from them so they could not help me. Last I checked it says "Primos" on the side of it. I am not asking them for a handout, I'm asking to pay, I just don't understand why this is an issue. Primos is sure making it difficult for me to continue to spend my money on there products!

just wanted to put in my 2 cents. I bought 2 turbo dog units the other day at my local walmart for $75 ea. they were clearing out their hunting section to bring in spring product, i got a call from a friend who told me everything was 1/2 off including their marked down items. so far I love it, going to give the other one to my son inlaw as a present. I am disappointed with all the comments here though, I understand company's have problems from time to time, but feel there should be more responses from primos on here addressing customer concerns. I sincerly hope there wont be an issue in the future.  Anyway, as I've stated happy so far and good luck to all you hunters out there.

Jeff -  I appoligize for the misunderstanding, but NOBODY should have indicated to you that you would be able to download sounds in "the next couple of weeks" as a date for a download website has never been established (even internally).  I understand your frustration in this matter (I too am frustrated with the situation), but I do not have any answer for your question on when direct downloads will be available.

However, if you want some moose hunting sounds, they ARE available on the list from the top of this page.  If you follow the instructions on the PDF sheet, you can have the available moose sounds you seek, just not as a direct download.

Again, I appologize, but this is the best we can offer you at this time.

@ Clark Manuel You may not be falsely advertising per se, but you are certainly misleading your buyers.  Perhaps you think the language you put on the packaging for the Turbodogg unit is acceptable, but judging by the comments other buyers have left, you have left a bad taste in buyers' mouths.  Primos has made it nearly impossible to find a way to get sounds to add to the Turbodogg and completely beyond the bounds of possibility of downloading any sounds.  For $100 more I can have the cougar calls on the Alphadogg automatically when it only costs $5 on the Turbodogg; sounds like a watered-down version of bait and switch if I have ever heard of one.  On top of that, previous postings from NOVEMBER of 2011 misled buyers into thinking that a download site would be forthcoming when you've JUST MENTIONED that one has never been established, even internally. " Scratch a lie, find a thief" is how I'm addressing this situation and will be returning my unit. Be forewarned I will strongly discourage friends and acquaintences from ever buying one of your products.

Also, consider redesigning your website as it is extremely hard to navigate.

@ vallonhicks - We are truly sorry you feel that way, and I don't deny that "misled" is a valid description of this situation, but there was NEVER any intention to mislead or misrepresent the productt by anyone on Primos end.  You can believe that or not, but that IS the TRUTH.

I am unclear as to why you would imply obtaining sounds is beyond the bounds of possibility when the instructions to obtain them are at the top of this page.  We have had hundreds of customers use this method and while it may not be an ideal solution, it IS a perfectly valid method to obtain the sounds.  Also, your implication that the extra cost of the Alpha Dogg is simply a way for us to charge more for additional sounds is logically inaccurate.   The Alpha Dogg offers many more functional features and just includes additional sounds as part of being a higher end product.

Primos never has and never will intentionally try to cheat our customers and your suggestion that this issue is an example of our greed is not accurate.  We don’t want to lose any customers and certainly hope you will reconsider your belief that all of this was done intentionally to cheat our customers.

Well I'm gettig pretty tired of hearing about where is all my free sounds or crap about false avertising. I am looking rite now at my Alpha dogg box.I DO NOT SEE ANY WHERE ON THE BOX ABOUT FREE SOUNDS.All I see is "The Primos Sound Library(found at primos.com) allows you to add sounds and other newly released ExpertHunts .this written per word off of the box my call came in. Now I do not see anything there that is miss leading. As for other calls I know that foxpro charges for there sounds and they do have sample sounds that you can hear if you want to pay to hear them,if you don't want to pay you can hear a sound bite that is about 3 seconds long. you can pick up sounds on other web sites but believe me they are distoted and have a lot of back ground noise .I have tried them,I was using one of my primos sounds had a dog coming in tried one of the other sound that dog picked up the ststic and was gone in a New York second.

primos has had a sound library up and running since Nov. and it isn't that hard to use.
