Truth Camera 35

I am interested in buying a Truth Camera 35, but have seen (in some of the blogs) that the camera 'clunks' when it takes a picture, and that this sound is audible up to 15 feet away.  I want to use it for security purposes, and if it makes this kind of noise, it just won't work for me.

Has this been fixed and / or are there any workarounds?

Thanks,

Joe Burch

The latest version of the camera only makes the switching noise when it switches from Day to Night or Night to Day mode.  Under normal outdoor conditions, this should only happen once at dusk and once at dawn.  The noise it makes has also been greatly reduced from the original release.

You can verify the camera is the newer version by the SN (also printed on the rear of the packaging).  Any camera starting with TC35-11 (or soon to be TC35-12) will be the newer hardware.  This is NOT a firmware update change that can be applied to older cameras.

Hope this answers your question.

Yes, mine makes noise also and I have noticed that the lens/shutter assembly shakes when this happens. Mine also has been capturing images continuously while in photo mode. Thousands of images daily.

@ Kcs92588 - I see you have opened a ticket and your replacement is being processed.

@ Dan Mosier II - You also have a ticket open and they camera sounds to be defective (constant triggering and mode switching is not normal).  There is a lense filter assembly that DOES move into and out of place when the camera switches modes (this movement is part of the noise that is made).  Again, this should only happen 2 times a day and if it is constantly happening, the camera is defective and needs replacement.
